Gormánuður is more than just a celebration of music, market, and feast—it’s educational! This year at Gormánuður Viking Fest (November 7–8, 2026, at Vasa Park in Hackettstown, NJ), we are thrilled to announce our brand-new lineup of hands-on workshops and classes hosted at Viking University!

Located inside the Viking Hall, these interactive workshops are designed to help you learn traditional, historically rooted skills directly from experienced artisans.

What You'll Learn:

Nålebinding (literally translated as "binding with a needle") is an ancient textile craft that predates both knitting and crochet by thousands of years. Widely practiced throughout the Viking Age across Scandinavia, it was used to create dense, warm, and highly durable items such as mittens, socks, hats, and milk strainers. Step back in time and learn the foundational techniques of this fascinating craft!

Weaving 101: Saturday & Sunday Sessions
