Nålebinding (literally "binding with a needle") is an ancient textile technique that predates both knitting and crochet by thousands of years. Widely practiced throughout the Viking Age across Scandinavia, it was used to create dense, durable, and warm garments such as mittens, socks, hats, and milk strainers.
